Barotrauma Steam Digital Key

Life beneath the ice of Europa

Barotrauma drops you into a submarine crew scraping out survival in the dark ocean beneath the frozen moon of Europa. Humanity has fled here as the last habitable ground grew scarce, only to find the ocean beneath the ice is far from empty. Procedural levels and events mean each voyage into the depths throws up different threats and discoveries.

Developed by FakeFish and published by Daedalic Entertainment, the game blends action, strategy, and simulation into a single tense package, with a strong indie pedigree running through its design.

Crew roles and systems

You take on a role aboard the submarine, whether that is captain, engineer, mechanic, medic or security officer, and every role matters when the ship starts taking damage or the crew starts arguing about who let something in.

• Operate onboard systems such as nuclear reactors, sonar, guns and engines
• Craft tools, drugs and weapons using the crafting system
• Explore alien ruins and wrecked submarines for artifacts and resources
• Build with the submarine editor and procedural animation tools
• Share and download mods through Steam Workshop

Play alone or crewed up

The game supports single player navigation of Europa's frozen depths as well as co-operative play with friends, and Steam Workshop integration lets you bring in community mods or build your own submarines and creatures with the included editors.
