Deep Rock Galactic drops one to four players into procedurally generated cave systems as a team of space dwarves sent to mine resources, fight off alien swarms and dig their way out again. Every cave is fully destructible, so there's no fixed route through a mission: drill straight down to the objective or carve out a sprawling network of tunnels, torch in hand, watching for whatever is lurking in the dark.

Developed by Ghost Ship Games and published by Coffee Stain Publishing, this is a co-op experience built around teamwork. You'll need your squad to survive the deeper, more hostile layers of the caves, and to haul the loot back out in one piece.

Four classes, one mission

Each expedition asks you to pick a class suited to the job at hand. The choices give the game its shape as a proper team activity rather than four people doing their own thing.

• Gunner: heavy firepower to mow down enemy hordes
• Scout: mobility and lighting up the caves ahead
• Driller: chews through solid rock to open new paths
• Engineer: turrets and defensive structures for the team
