Final Fantasy XVI takes place in the land of Valisthea, where the Mothercrystals that once fuelled everyday magick are losing their power as the deadlands spread. The story follows Clive Rosfield, the First Shield of Rosaria, sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, Dominant of the Phoenix. A great tragedy sets Clive on a path of revenge against the Dark Eikon Ifrit, and against the forces that would let the crystals go on shaping mankind's fate.

This is an action, adventure and RPG title developed by Creative Business Unit III and published by Square Enix LTD, built around the mighty Eikons and the Dominants who wield them.
