For The King II sends a party of heroes against Queen Rosomon, who has turned on her own subjects and struck alliances with dark forces in the mines beneath Fahrul. Players can adventure alone, controlling the whole party, or team up with up to three friends in four-player co-op, coordinating movement and combat as they push through a procedurally generated map that changes with every playthrough.

The campaign spans five narratively linked adventures totalling over 30 hours, with dice roll inspired movement and encounter mechanics and a Battle Grid system where positioning grants buffs and penalties in combat. Parties are built from 12 character classes, each with distinct perks and playstyles, and can be reinforced with recruited mercenaries and tamed companions along the way.

Building your party

Classes range from the heavy melee Blacksmith to the potion-slinging Alchemist, and choosing which characters to field shapes how encounters against the Queensguard and other threats play out. Equipment looted from foes and mercenaries hired in taverns give further ways to adapt a party's strategy as a run progresses.
