Frostpunk 2 picks up thirty years after the apocalyptic blizzard of the original game. The frost has never lifted, and Earth remains a harsh, icy wasteland. You take charge of a resource-hungry metropolis, now grown large enough to face a different kind of threat: the ambitions, rivalries and thirst for power of your own citizens.

Rather than managing a single settlement, you build entire districts with distinct purposes, industrial, scientific and beyond, and must keep them working together as parts of one vast, cog-driven machine. Technology research shapes the direction your City takes as it expands across the Frostland.

Rule as Steward, not just planner

As the City grows, so does the complexity of governing it. Citizens divide into factions with contradictory visions of the future, and it falls to you as Steward to keep those tensions from tearing the City apart. The Council building becomes the stage where laws are forged and factional disputes play out, sometimes violently.

This is a strategy and simulation title with strong story-rich elements, fitting alongside other strategy games and simulation games that put narrative consequence at the centre of play. Fans of story-rich games will find plenty to weigh up here.
