Guild Wars 2: Secret of the Obscure Digital Key

An expansion for Guild Wars 2

Secret of the Obscure takes the story of Guild Wars 2 into the skies above Tyria, where the Wizard's Tower holds secrets tied to the world's place in the wider cosmos. With the Elder Dragons no longer the threat they once were, a new danger emerges: the Kryptis, an invading force pouring through tears in reality known as rifts.

You join the Astral Ward to help seal these rifts, take on bounties against increasingly dangerous foes, and earn rewards along the way. The story unfolds across instalments, so there is more content planned beyond what arrives at launch.

This expansion sits within Guild Wars 2's blend of RPG, action and MMO systems, and fans of the wider adventure games and RPG titles on offer will find plenty to explore here.

Combat and exploration changes

Secret of the Obscure reworks how you build your character in combat. New relics add special effects to your build, working alongside a revamped rune system, and each profession gains access to weapons that were previously locked behind elite specialisations, with more to follow in future releases.

Exploration also expands skyward. The expansion updates the path to unlocking the skyscale mount and introduces new Masteries built around aerial traversal, with two explorable zones available at launch and a further map promised as the story progresses.

What this listing gets you

This is a key for the Standard edition of Secret of the Obscure, redeemed on the publisher's own website rather than through a separate storefront. Once redeemed, the expansion is added to your existing Guild Wars 2 account on that platform.

The listing activates worldwide, so it is not restricted to a particular country. It runs on Windows, is rated PEGI 12, and supports English, French, German and Spanish. As a piece of downloadable content, it also sits alongside other DLC and expansions for players looking to round out their collection, and among the store's wider action games selection for those exploring more of the genre.
