Hell Let Loose puts fifty players against fifty on sweeping maps built from real reconnaissance and satellite data. Rather than a simple deathmatch, the game revolves around capturing sectors that generate resources for your side, so the front line is always shifting and every capture feeds into a wider tactical picture.

Combat spans infantry, recon and armour, with tanks, anti-tank guns and artillery all playable. Success depends on officers, commanders and squads working together and communicating, rather than on individual kill counts.

Roles and vehicles

There are 14 playable roles across the three unit types, letting you approach the same battle very differently depending on whether you take up a rifle, a medic kit, engineering tools or a tank.

• Infantry roles including Officer, Scout, Machine Gunner, Medic and Engineer
• Armour roles commanding tanks and other vehicles
• Support roles operating heavy weapons such as anti-tank guns and artillery
• A Commander role directing the team via the tactical map
