You manage a party of five to six heroes, each with skill trees, ultimate skills and world abilities to unlock as they level up. Loot, equip and craft artefacts to build the strongest force you can field in Avalon, and since heroes don't suffer permanent death after missions, there's room to experiment with different tactical approaches.

Combat rewards careful use of cover, traps, flanking and an overwatch and opportunity system, with difficulty settings ranging from relaxed storytelling to brutal, unforgiving battles. Away from the battlefield, you rebuild and expand Nova Roma, balancing scarce resources to keep your stronghold able to prepare heroes for what lies ahead.
