Knights of Honor II: Sovereign puts you on the throne of a medieval kingdom, with control stretching across Europe, North Africa and parts of Asia. Rather than turns, the world moves in real time, so diplomacy, trade, religion and war all unfold together as your reign progresses.

Your Royal Court sits at the centre of the game. Marshals lead your armies, Diplomats negotiate pacts and marriages, Merchants build your economy and hunt for new riches, Clerics tend to your people's culture and happiness, and Spies work in the shadows to bribe rivals or stir up rebellions. How you staff your court shapes the character of your reign.

Building and defending a realm

There are over 200 historical kingdoms to choose from and more than 300 provinces to fight over, so no two campaigns start from the same position. Economic development matters as much as military strength, with your lands needing to support whatever army you intend to raise.

When battle comes, you can take direct command of the fighting rather than leaving it to the computer, with real-time field battles and sieges involving up to four armies at once and a roster of more than 100 unit types, from longbowmen to siege engines.

Playing with others

Multiplayer supports up to six players across co-op, team and free-for-all games, with victory conditions such as Peasant Rush, War for Goods and First Blood to change the shape of a match. Match length can also be capped by time or by the number of Sovereign generations, for shorter sessions.
