Lords of the Fallen (2023) casts you as one of the Dark Crusaders, sent to stop the resurrection of the demon god Adyr. The adventure runs across two parallel worlds, the realm of the living and the nightmarish realm of the dead, connected by a lantern that lets you cross between them, reach hidden places and manipulate the souls of your foes.

Character building runs deep: pick from nine starting classes, including Knight, Rogue and Fire Apprentice, then fully customise appearance and develop stats, weapons, armour and spells around your own playstyle. Combat is fast and tactical, with hundreds of weapons and arcane attacks to master against colossal bosses.

The campaign can be played solo or with a second player joining via uninterrupted online co-op, though be warned that other players can invade your world as hostile crusaders from beyond.
