Manor Lords sets you in the late 14th century Franconia, where you take on the role of a medieval lord tasked with turning a small village into a thriving town. The city builder is gridless, letting you place and rotate buildings freely so your settlement grows organically according to trade routes, terrain and the historical burgage plot system. Residential, commercial and industrial districts develop naturally as your homeowners take up trades to sustain themselves and the wider community.

Resource management runs deep, with production chains covering everything from basic necessities to luxury goods. You will need to found specialised settlements to extract raw materials, keep an eye on soil fertility and deforestation, and trade surplus goods with merchants. Seasonal changes bring their own pressures, from spring rains to harsh winters, and unlocking technologies helps your town prosper over time.

Warfare is handled with weight and consequence. Soldiers are treated as individuals rather than disposable units, so you will want to train a retinue of skilled fighters and call up levies from the town militia when diplomacy fails. Real time tactical battles factor in fatigue, weather and equipment, and losses on the battlefield ripple back into your city's economy.
