Monster Hunter Rise sends you into the world of Kamura Village, a community that has long feared a catastrophic event known as the Rampage. Fifty years after the last one struck, you take on the role of a hunter working with the villagers to prepare for the next trial, tracking down monsters with distinct behaviours drawn from classic Monster Hunter lore and new creatures inspired by Japanese folklore, including the flagship wyvern Magnamalo.

The Wirebug is central to how you move and fight here. It lets you zip up walls and across the map and pull off special attacks unique to each weapon type, giving hunts a faster, more vertical feel than earlier entries. Palico companions return alongside the new Palamute Canyne, and Wyvern Riding lets you seize control of enraged monsters to turn their strength against their own kind.

Fourteen weapons, one hunter

Weapon choice defines your playstyle as much as your gear does. The game offers fourteen distinct weapon types, each with its own rhythm and range.

Built for hunting on PC

This Steam release carries a set of PC-specific optimisations, including support for up to 4K resolution, HDR, ultrawide monitors and an unlocked frame rate, so the hunt looks and runs the way you want it to. Multiplayer quests through the Hunter Hub let up to four players team up, with difficulty scaling so solo hunts and full squads both stay a fair fight. The Rampage quest type adds large-scale defence encounters where you protect Kamura Village from hordes of monsters attacking at once, a different rhythm from the usual one-on-one hunts.
