Monster Hunter: World drops hunters into the New World, a living ecosystem shaped by the migration of elder dragons known as the Elder Crossing. Sent by the Guild's Research Commission to investigate the colossal Zorah Magdaros, you take on quests to track and fell monsters across varied habitats, using the terrain and local wildlife to your advantage.

Fourteen weapon types are available, each with distinct attacks, so hunters can specialise in one or master several. Scoutflies read tracks left by monsters to guide you toward your prey, while the Slinger lets you gather stones and nuts from the environment for diversion tactics, shortcuts and other tricks in the field. Specialised tools add short-lived tactical effects, and Palicoes, your feline companions, offer offensive, defensive and support help on every hunt.

Materials carved from fallen monsters feed directly into crafting, letting you build stronger weapons and armour to take on bigger, tougher beasts. Hunts can be tackled solo or in co-op with up to three other players.
