A brother's search for a cure

Nier is the updated version of the prequel to NieR: Automata, telling the story previously seen only in Japan through the eyes of a young man determined to save his sister Yonah from the Black Scrawl disease. Setting out with the talking tome Grimoire Weiss, he searches for the Sealed Verses across a ruined, disease-plagued world filled with monstrous horrors.

This release comes from the original team, directed by Yoko Taro with a score reworked by composer Keiichi Okabe and produced by Yosuke Saito, all of whom also worked on NieR: Automata.

Combat blends swordplay with magic, and players can customise their character's skills, weapons and magic through the game's Words system.
