Pax Augusta Steam Digital Key

Govern a Roman frontier city

Pax Augusta casts you as a Roman governor tasked with founding and growing a settlement along the empire's expanding borders under Emperor Augustus. You start with a modest outpost beside an imperial road, attract settlers with harbours and forums, then grow tax revenue to fund mining, housing and civic buildings such as baths, theatres, gladiator schools and slave markets.

Buildings are recreated with attention to historical accuracy, many based on structures that still stand as ruins today. As your reputation with the senate and emperor rises, you gain the standing to found new settlements, take on public office, erect monuments and unlock further building sites, while fire, corruption, unrest and imperial politics test your rule.

How the city grows

City growth is organic rather than scripted, moving from a single outpost to a full metropolis as trade, food supply and building materials are managed. Trade agreements bring in goods such as marble for temples, and diversifying trading partners protects against shortages when relationships sour.

• Sandbox mode for building freely without restrictions
• Story campaign inspired by the historical writings of Tacitus
• Expansion into the northern frontier regions of Gaul and Germania
