Star Wars Squadrons puts you in the cockpit of New Republic and Imperial starfighters for strategic 5 vs 5 space battles. You plan with your squadron in the briefing room before launching into skirmishes across battlefields including the gas giant Yavin Prime and the shattered moon Galitan.

Alongside the multiplayer dogfights sits a single-player story set after the events of Return of the Jedi, told from alternating New Republic and Imperial perspectives. The entire game can also be played in virtual reality on PC, for full immersion in the pilot's seat.

Starfighters and progression

You take control of classes such as the X-wing, TIE fighter, A-wing and TIE bomber, each modifiable in loadout and cosmetics. Power can be diverted between weapons, shields and engines mid-battle, and progression unlocks new hulls, engines, shields and cosmetic items as you climb the ranks.
