A knight's quest across Europe and the Middle East

The Valiant follows Theoderich von Akenburg, a disillusioned former crusader knight drawn back into conflict when a fractured piece of the ancient Rod of Aaron resurfaces. His former brother-in-arms Ulrich von Grevel seeks to reunite the relic's pieces, and Theoderich sets out to stop him, gathering warriors such as Reinhard von Kempten and the mercenary Grimhild Eidottr along the way.

Developed by Kite Games and published by THQ Nordic, the game blends squad-based real-time strategy with RPG progression, sending players through 15 hand-crafted single-player missions with custom cinematics and narrated journals.

How the campaign and combat work

Command hero-squads and auxiliary units, from tanky swordsmen to swift cavalry, and build out five or more hero squads using their own skill trees for passive and active abilities. Weapons and armour looted through the campaign carry distinct stats and special options, letting you shape a range of hero builds as you level up.

Playing together or against each other

For those who prefer testing their tactics against other players, PvP modes support both 1v1 and 2v2 formats, complete with cosmetic meta-progression and rewards for ranked matches.
