A viking survival world built for exploration

Valheim casts you as a battle-slain warrior ferried by the Valkyries to Valheim, the tenth Norse world, tasked with slaying Odin's ancient rivals and bringing order to a land besieged by chaos. The world is procedurally generated, taking players from disarmingly peaceful meadows through imposing forests and snow-capped mountains, each region hiding its own creatures and materials.

Combat rewards patience, with a dodge and block based system and a wide range of weapons to craft. Beyond fighting, there is a full building and sailing loop: raise mead halls, farms and outposts, then construct anything from a flimsy raft to a proper longship to sail the open sea in search of exotic, and dangerous, lands.

Iron Gate Studios developed Valheim, with Coffee Stain Publishing handling publishing duties. The game sits across action, adventure, RPG, indie, open world, survival and co-op genres, and it carries a PEGI 12 rating.

Co-op is a core part of the design, supporting player-hosted servers so groups can brave the primordial purgatory together, whether solo or with a full crew, taking on primordial bosses and progressing through crafting and trophies.
