Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters is a turn-based tactical RPG in which you lead the Grey Knights, an elite chapter of Space Marines, against a spreading cosmic plague known as the Bloom. The narrative was written by Black Library author Aaron Dembski-Bowden, giving weight to the Grey Knights' secretive, faith-bound existence as they hunt down the source of the corruption across multiple worlds.

Beyond the battlefield you manage a base of operations, building facilities and researching arcane mysteries to keep pace with the plague. Your decisions about which worlds to defend and which to abandon shape which planets ultimately succumb to the Bloom and which survive.

Squad building and precision tactics

You command a personalised squad of Grey Knights, each with their own voice, armour and facial customisation. As they gain experience they learn skills and psychic abilities, unlock new equipment and specialise into four standard and advanced classes, letting you build a roster suited to your own approach.

Combat is built around a Precision Targeting system that lets you weigh up ranged accuracy against the risk and reward of brutal melee attacks. Enemies mutate as the Bloom spreads, with cultists and Death Guard Chaos Space Marines gaining new attacks and abilities, so tactics that worked early on need constant adaptation. Destructible environments add another layer, letting you topple pillars or crash vehicles into enemy lines mid fight.
