For The King II sends a party of adventurers against Queen Rosomon, who has turned on her own people and struck alliances with dark forces to keep them enslaved in the mines of Fahrul. Developed by IronOak Games and published by Curve Games, this is the sequel to the original For The King, built on an updated engine that refines its blend of roguelite structure and tabletop-style dice mechanics.

The campaign spans five narratively linked adventures totalling over 30 hours, with a procedurally generated map that changes every run. If your party falls, the next attempt begins stronger, with better starting items to draft into your loadout, so no two playthroughs play out the same way.

Party building and combat

You build your party from 12 character classes, from the heavy-hitting Blacksmith to the potion-slinging Alchemist, each with its own perks and playstyle. Mercenaries and companions can be recruited along the way, from tavern hires to beasts plucked from the wild, to reinforce your ranks when things go wrong.

Combat plays out on a Battle Grid, where positioning grants buffs and penalties. Defend the back row with a Tower Shield, shove foes into fire, or tangle melee troops with dark magic drawn from looted weapons. Play solo and control the whole party yourself, or team up with up to three friends in four player co-op, where coordination and compromise matter as much as tactics.

The journey through Fahrul takes you across lush forests, toxic swamps, lava-filled wastelands and Merling-infested tropical seas, each rendered in a distinct art style as you push further into the land than before.
