PlayStation’s two-step verification adds an extra security layer to your PSN account. Here’s how to enable it.
Method 1: Via the PlayStation Website
- Go to PlayStation account management and sign in.
- Select “Security” from the left sidebar.
- Find “2-Step Verification” and click “Edit” → “Activate”.
- Choose your method: Authenticator App (recommended) or SMS.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to verify.
- Save your backup codes in a secure location.
Method 2: Via PS5
- Go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Security → 2-Step Verification.
- Select “Activate”.
- Choose Authenticator App or SMS and follow the prompts.
Tips
- The authenticator app method (Google Authenticator, Authy) is more secure than SMS.
- Save your backup codes — they let you log in if you lose access to your authenticator.
- Once enabled, you’ll need a code every time you sign in on a new device.
