Steam gift cards and wallet codes add funds directly to your Steam Wallet, which you can use to buy games, DLC, in-game items, and more. Here’s how to redeem yours.
Before you start
- A Steam account (free to create at store.steampowered.com)
- The Steam desktop client, mobile app, or access to the Steam website
- Your wallet code (usually printed on the back of a physical card or delivered digitally)
Method 1: Via the Steam Desktop Client
- Open Steam and log into your account.
- Click “Games” in the top menu bar and select “Redeem a Steam Wallet Code”.
- Enter your code and click “Continue”.
- The funds will be added to your Steam Wallet immediately.
Method 2: Via the Steam Website
- Go to store.steampowered.com/account/redeemwalletcode and sign in.
- Enter your wallet code and click “Continue”.
- The balance will be added to your Steam Wallet.
Method 3: Via the Steam Mobile App
- Open the Steam app and tap your profile icon.
- Go to “Account Details” → “Add funds to your Steam Wallet”.
- Select “Redeem a Steam Gift Card or Wallet Code”.
- Enter your code and confirm.
Tips
- Steam wallet codes are currency-specific. A USD card only works on accounts set to USD. If your account uses a different currency, you may be prompted to convert.
- Gift card balances do not expire.
- You can stack multiple gift cards on the same account.
- Each code can only be redeemed once.
