Amazon gift cards and promotional codes add credit to your Amazon account balance, which you can use to purchase anything on the Amazon store. Here’s how to redeem yours.
Before you start
Make sure you have the following ready:
- An Amazon account for the correct regional store (Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, etc.)
- Your gift card code (usually formatted as XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXX)
Method 1: Via the Amazon Website (Recommended)
- Go to amazon.com/gc/redeem (replace .com with your country’s Amazon domain).
- Sign in to your Amazon account.
- Enter your gift card code in the claim code field.
- Click “Apply to your balance”. The funds will be added immediately.
Method 2: Via the Amazon App
- Open the Amazon app on your phone.
- Tap the menu icon (☰) and go to “Account” → “Gift Cards”.
- Tap “Redeem a Gift Card”.
- Enter your code and tap “Apply to your balance”.
Tips
- Amazon gift cards are region-specific. A US gift card only works on Amazon.com, a UK card only on Amazon.co.uk, and so on.
- The balance is applied to your Amazon account and can be used across multiple purchases.
- Gift card balances do not expire.
- You cannot transfer gift card balance between Amazon regional stores.
- Each code can only be redeemed once.
