Apple Gift Cards add funds to your Apple ID balance, which can be used for the App Store, iTunes, Apple Music, iCloud storage, and more. Here is how to redeem yours.
Before You Start
- An Apple ID (free to create at appleid.apple.com)
- Your Apple Gift Card code (usually 16 characters, starting with X)
Method 1: On iPhone or iPad
- Open the App Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Tap “Redeem Gift Card or Code”.
- Enter your code manually or use the camera to scan a physical card.
- Tap “Redeem” to add the balance to your Apple ID.
Method 2: On Mac
- Open the App Store.
- Click your name or the sign-in button in the bottom-left corner.
- Click “Redeem Gift Card”.
- Enter your code and click “Redeem”.
Method 3: Via the Web
- Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in.
- Navigate to “Redeem Gift Cards” under your account settings.
- Enter your code and confirm.
Tips
- Apple Gift Cards work for apps, music, movies, TV shows, books, iCloud storage, and Apple subscriptions.
- Gift cards are country-specific. A US card can only be redeemed on a US Apple ID.
- Each code can only be redeemed once.
