Valheim drops you into the tenth Norse world as a battle-slain warrior, ferried there by the Valkyries to face the ancient enemies of the gods. From a disarmingly peaceful starting point you push outward into procedurally generated forests, snow-capped mountains and open seas, harvesting materials to craft weapons, armour and strongholds.

Combat rewards care rather than button mashing, built around dodging and blocking as you take on progressively tougher foes.
