About Motion Twin
Motion Twin is a worker cooperative based in Bordeaux, France. Its games lean towards action, platforming and hack and slash, built around short runs, tight controls and a distinctive art style that sits firmly in the indie space.
Dead Cells is the series the studio is best known for, an action platformer built on repeated attempts and gradually unlocked gear. Windblown continues that fast, combat-led approach in a different setting.
Games in the catalogue
Dead Cells anchors the range, joined by a broad set of add-on content including The Bad Seed, Fatal Falls, The Queen and the Sea and Return to Castlevania, along with combined bundles such as the Medley of Pain Bundle, The Fatal Seed Bundle and Road to the Sea Bundle. Each add-on needs the base game on the same account to work.
Windblown is listed on its own and also as a bundle together with Dead Cells. Between them the games cover action, adventure, platformer and hack and slash tastes, and are mostly Steam titles, with Dead Cells content also reaching Xbox. Both Dead Cells and Windblown come as keys and as accounts.
How buying works
Most listings activate on Steam, where a key is redeemed in the client or on the website and the game is then tied to that account; the Steam key guide walks through the steps. Dead Cells content on Xbox is redeemed against a Microsoft account instead.
Some Dead Cells and Windblown listings are sold as game accounts, which arrive with the game already on it and are signed into rather than redeemed. Games are sold per region, and a key has to match the region of the account it is being activated on, so check that before buying if your store region differs.
Common questions
- Which platform do these games activate on?
- Most Motion Twin listings activate on Steam. Some Dead Cells add-on bundles are for Xbox and activate against a Microsoft account.
- Will a key work in another country?
- Only if the region of the key matches the region of the account redeeming it. A key sold for one region may be refused on an account set to another.
- What is the difference between a key and an account?
- A key is a code you redeem on your own Steam or Microsoft account. An account listing comes with the game already on it, so you sign in with the details provided instead of redeeming anything.
- Do the Dead Cells add-ons need the base game?
- Yes. DLC such as The Bad Seed, Fatal Falls or Return to Castlevania requires Dead Cells on the same account. Bundles that include the base game cover this themselves.
- When do I receive the key or account details?
- The key or account details are delivered to your order once payment completes.
