Redeeming an Xbox key is quick and easy. Whether you’re on your console, PC, or even your phone, follow the steps below to add the game or content to your account.
Before you start
Make sure you have the following ready:
- A Microsoft account with an active Xbox profile
- Your 25-character product key (formatted as XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX)
- An internet connection on the device you’re using to redeem
Method 1: Via Xbox Console (Recommended)
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
- Navigate to “Store” (or press the bumpers to find it).
- Scroll down and select “Redeem a code”.
- Enter your 25-character product key using the on-screen keyboard, or say it aloud if you have a Kinect or headset with Cortana.
- Confirm the code and select “Redeem”. The content will begin downloading or appear in your library.
