About Nihon Falcom
Nihon Falcom is one of Japan's oldest names in computer role-playing games and works almost entirely within that space. Its best-known output is The Legend of Heroes, a connected series of story-rich RPG adventures that runs from the Trails in the Sky chapters through Trails of Cold Steel and Sen no Kiseki III, and the Ys line of faster, action-driven quests represented here by Ys X: Nordics.
Alongside those series sit games such as Tokyo Xanadu eX+, which blends an urban setting with action combat, plus Sora no Kiseki the 1st and Legends. The anime art direction, character-led writing and turn-based or real-time battle systems are constants across the range.
Games in the catalogue
The Trails strand is the largest part of the range: The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, Trails in the Sky SC, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, Trails in the Sky the 3rd, Trails of Cold Steel and Sen no Kiseki III, together with Sora no Kiseki the 1st. Ys X: Nordics and Tokyo Xanadu eX+ cover the more action-focused side, and Legends rounds out the list. Genres span RPG, action, adventure and story-rich anime titles, with release years running from 2014 to 2026.
Everything here is for Steam, so the library sits alongside other Steam PC titles and story-led adventures. Add-on content also features, including the Tokyo Xanadu eX+ item, outfit and accessory bundles, which need the base game on the same account before they can be used.
How buying works
Every title in the range activates on Steam. Most games come as keys, which are redeemed in the Steam client or website and then added to your own library; the Steam key activation guide walks through the steps. Some titles, including Ys X: Nordics and Sen no Kiseki III, are offered as game accounts instead, meaning you receive an account with the game already on it and sign in rather than redeem anything.
Games are sold per region, and a key has to match the region of the Steam account it is being activated on, so check which region a listing covers before buying.
Common questions
- Which platform do these games activate on?
- All Nihon Falcom titles in this catalogue are for Steam on PC. Keys are redeemed in Steam, and accounts are signed into through the Steam client.
- Will a key work in another country?
- Only if the key's region matches the region of the Steam account using it. A key intended for one region may refuse to redeem on an account registered elsewhere, so match the two before purchase.
- What is the difference between a key and an account?
- A key is a code you redeem to add the game to your own Steam library. An account arrives with the game already on it, so you sign in with the details provided instead of redeeming a code.
- Do the Tokyo Xanadu eX+ bundles work on their own?
- No. The item, outfit and accessory bundles are add-on content and require Tokyo Xanadu eX+ itself on the same Steam account.
- When do I receive the key or account details?
- The key or account details are delivered to your order once payment completes.
