Can I use an Airbnb gift card from another country?

No. A card is tied to the country and currency it was issued for, and it needs to be redeemed on that country's Airbnb gift page. Choose the region that matches the recipient's Airbnb account.

Does the credit expire?

Once a gift card has been added to an Airbnb account, the funds do not expire.

What happens to leftover balance?

Any unused amount stays in the Airbnb account balance and can be applied to a later booking. You can check the remaining amount under Payment methods in your Account.

How do I receive the code?

The code is delivered to your order once payment completes, so you can redeem it on your Airbnb account straight away.

What can the credit be spent on?

Airbnb credit can be used for any stay, Experience or Online Experience on Airbnb.

Airbnb gift cards

An Airbnb gift card adds credit to an Airbnb account, ready to be put towards a booking. Once the code is redeemed, the funds sit in the account and can be applied at checkout.

The credit covers any stay, Experience or Online Experience on Airbnb, which makes it a straightforward present for someone planning a trip or a weekend away.

About Airbnb gift cards

Airbnb is a booking service for homes, rooms and hosted activities in cities and rural areas around the world. Credit from an Airbnb gift card can go towards any stay, Experience or Online Experience, so the recipient chooses the destination and the dates themselves.

Face values run from smaller amounts up to larger travel budgets, in US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars, euros, pounds, Mexican and Brazilian currencies and Swedish krona. Airbnb gift cards suit travellers, people moving between cities for work, and anyone who would rather receive a holiday fund than an object. Airbnb credit sits alongside other prepaid gift cards as a present that does not need a size or a colour.

How to redeem an Airbnb gift card

Redemption happens on the Airbnb gift page, using the regional address printed with the card, for example airbnb.com/gift. For a fuller walkthrough with screenshots, see the help-centre guide.

Open the Airbnb gift page for your card's country, such as airbnb.com/gift.
Sign in to your Airbnb account.
Enter the gift card code and confirm the redemption.
Add the funds from the card to your account.
Open Payment methods in your Account to check the balance.
Apply the credit when you book a stay, Experience or Online Experience.

Regions and account currency

Each Airbnb gift card is issued for one country and one currency, and is redeemed through that country's Airbnb gift page. Buy the card that matches the country and currency of the account the credit is going to, rather than the country the traveller intends to visit.

Once the credit is in the account, it can be spent on listings in other countries, since Airbnb handles the booking in the account's own currency.

Regions currently listed for Airbnb: United States, New Zealand, Mexico, Germany, Canada, Australia, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, United Kingdom, Brazil and 4 more. Use the region filter beside the results to see the cards for one country.
