How to redeem a Lyft gift card
Redemption happens inside the Lyft app, on the account you use for booking rides. The value is credited to that account once the code is accepted.
- Open the Lyft app and sign in to your account.
- Tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
- Tap the Payment tab.
- Tap Gift card.
- Enter your code and follow the instructions in the app.
Regions and where a Lyft gift card works
Lyft gift cards are issued per country and credit a Lyft account registered in that same country, in the local currency. A card bought for one country will not apply to an account set up in the other, so choose the region that matches where the recipient books their rides.
If you are buying as a present, check which country the person's Lyft account is registered in before picking a card.

Common questions
- Can I use a US Lyft gift card in Canada?
- No. The card credits a Lyft account in the country it was issued for, in that country's currency. Buy the card for the country where the account is registered.
- What happens to leftover balance?
- The full value is credited to the Lyft account when the code is redeemed, and the remaining credit stays on the account for later rides. It is applied towards eligible fares rather than paid out.
- How do I receive the code?
- The code is delivered to your order once payment completes.
- Do I need an existing Lyft account?
- Yes. The code is entered in the Payment section of the Lyft app, so you need to be signed in to an account before redeeming.
- Can the credit be spent outside the Lyft app?
- No. The value is redeemable only for eligible goods and services through Lyft, and it cannot be transferred to another payment method.
