Can I use an Australian card in South Africa, or the other way round?

No. Each Woolworths gift card belongs to the country it was issued for and is only accepted at that country's Woolworths checkout.

What happens if my order costs more than the card?

You can pay the difference with another payment method at the checkout. Any value left over stays on the card for a later purchase.

How do I get the code?

The code is delivered to your order once payment completes, and you enter it at the Woolworths checkout.

Can I use it in a physical store?

Some Woolworths eGift Cards carry an in store number or barcode that can be scanned or keyed in when you select card as the payment method. Check the details supplied with the card you buy.

Do I need a Woolworths account?

You shop as you normally would and select the gift card payment option at the checkout. Any account requirement is the same as for a standard purchase in that country.

About Woolworths gift cards

Woolworths is a supermarket and retail name in both South Africa and Australia, selling food, fresh produce and general store lines. A Woolworths gift card can be put towards that shopping in place of a card or cash payment, which makes it a straightforward present for someone who does their weekly shop there, as well as a simple way to set aside a fixed amount for groceries.

Values run from small amounts suitable for a top-up shop through to larger sums for a full trolley, in South African rand and Australian dollars. Alongside the standard store cards, Woolworths Wish gift cards are listed for South Africa. You can find more brands like it among the prepaid gift cards.

How to redeem a Woolworths gift card

Redemption depends on which country's card you hold. In both cases the code goes into the gift card payment option rather than a promotion or voucher code box.

Fill your basket and go to the checkout.
For an Australian card, choose gift card as the payment option, not a promotion code field.
Enter the 19 digit card number and the 4 digit PIN from your email.
For a South African card, go to woolworths.co.za and choose gift card as the payment method at checkout.
Type in the gift card code and PIN.
Confirm the order and pay any remaining balance by another method if the total is higher.

Regions and where the card works

Woolworths gift cards are tied to the country they were issued for. A South African card is for shopping with Woolworths in South Africa, and an Australian card is for Woolworths Supermarket in Australia. The two are separate and cannot be swapped.

Buy the card that matches the country the recipient shops in, since a code issued for one will not be accepted at the other's checkout.
