Can I use a Bol.com gift card from another country?

Only if the code matches the storefront where you shop. A card issued for one region may be refused at checkout in another, so pick the version that fits the recipient's Bol.com account.

What happens to any balance I do not spend?

If your order costs less than the card value, the unused credit stays on the code for a later purchase. If the order costs more, you pay the difference with another payment method.

How do I receive the code?

The code is delivered to your order once payment completes, and you can then enter it on the Bol.com payment screen.

Do I need a Bol.com account?

You place an order through Bol.com in the usual way, so you will go through their normal checkout and sign-in process before entering the code.

Can I combine a gift card with another payment method?

Yes. The card covers part of the total and any remaining amount can be paid with a payment method of your choice.

Bol.com gift cards

A Bol.com gift card is a prepaid code that pays for your order on the Bol.com webshop. You enter it during checkout and the value is taken off the total.

Bol.com sells books, electronics, toys, home goods, games and much more, so the credit can go towards almost anything in the catalogue.

About Bol.com gift cards

Bol.com is one of the largest online shops serving Belgium and the Netherlands, with a broad range that covers books and ebooks, consumer electronics, household items, toys, baby products and hobby goods. A gift card simply funds a purchase there, which makes it a straightforward present for someone who would rather choose for themselves.

Values run in euros, from small top-ups suitable for a book or a small gift up to larger amounts for bigger purchases. If you are comparing options for other shops as well, the wider range of prepaid gift cards follows the same idea: a code entered at the retailer's own checkout.

How to redeem a Bol.com gift card

Redemption happens during the normal checkout flow rather than in a separate wallet page.

Go to Bol.com and sign in to your account.
Choose the product you want to buy and place it in the shopping cart.
Continue to the payment screen.
Enter the gift card code in the blank field in the payment section.
Pay any remaining amount with a payment method of your choice.

Regions and where the card works

Bol.com gift cards are tied to the store they were issued for, so a code should match the country the recipient shops in. Belgian and Dutch codes apply to the matching Bol.com storefront, while combined BE/NL and European versions are issued for the wider area covered by that listing.

Check which version you are buying before you order, as a code intended for one storefront may not be accepted on another. Region labels are shown with each card, and the same logic applies across the gift card range.

Regions currently listed for Bol.com: BE/NL, Netherlands, Belgium, Europe. Use the region filter beside the results to see the cards for one country.
