Gap gift cards
A Gap gift card is prepaid credit for the clothing retailer, spent on everyday basics, denim, outerwear and accessories for women, men and children.
The card carries a 16-digit number and a 4-digit PIN, which are applied at checkout to cover part or all of an order.
About Gap gift cards
Gap is a clothing brand known for denim, T-shirts, hoodies, knitwear and kidswear. Credit from a gift card goes towards whatever the store sells, so the recipient chooses their own sizes and styles rather than receiving a fixed item.
The cards suit birthdays, seasonal gifts and anyone shopping for a new wardrobe, and they work equally well as a self-purchase when you want a set budget for clothes. Face values run from small amounts up to larger gifting sums, in US and Canadian dollars. Gap sits alongside other prepaid gift cards for high street and online retailers.
How to redeem a Gap gift card
Redemption happens during checkout rather than in a separate account area, so the card is applied to an order as you place it.
- Add the items you want to your basket and go to checkout.
- Continue as you normally would to the billing page or the order review page.
- Find the gift card entry fields.
- Enter the 16-digit gift card number.
- Enter the 4-digit PIN from the back of the card.
- Apply the card and complete your order.
Regions and where the card works
Gap gift cards are tied to the country they were issued for, so a United States card is spent in US dollars with the US store and a Canadian card is spent in Canadian dollars with the Canadian store. The two are not interchangeable at checkout.
Choose the card that matches the country the recipient actually shops in, including the currency shown in the title, so the code is accepted when they come to pay.

Common questions
- Can I use a Gap gift card in another country?
- No. Each card belongs to the country it was issued for and is accepted only by the Gap store for that country, in that currency.
- What happens to any balance I do not spend?
- Any remaining balance stays on the card and can be used towards a later order. Enter the same number and PIN again at checkout.
- Can I use the card if my order costs more than the balance?
- Yes. The card covers part of the total and you pay the remainder with another payment method during checkout.
- How do I get the code?
- The card number and PIN are delivered to your order once payment completes.
- Do I need a Gap account to use the card?
- The card is entered during checkout on the billing or order review page, so it is applied to the order itself rather than loaded into an account.
