Will a Jagex card work in another country?

Global cards are not restricted to one country's store. European cards are intended for accounts in Europe, so pick the version that matches the account the code will be used on.

How do I receive the code?

The code is delivered to your order once payment completes, and you can then activate it against a RuneScape account.

What happens to leftover value?

Membership cards add a fixed block of game time rather than a spendable balance. A credit card adds funds to the account, and anything not spent stays on the account for later purchases.

Do I need an existing RuneScape account?

Yes. The card is activated after signing in, so create a free account first if the player does not already have one.

Can membership time be stacked?

Time from a card is applied to the account it is activated on. Anything beyond that depends on the terms Jagex applies to the account.

Jagex prepaid game cards

Jagex prepaid game cards are codes that add RuneScape membership time or store credit to a RuneScape account. Once a card is activated, the account gains member status and access to member worlds, quests, skills and areas.

Cards cover short stretches of membership through to a full year, with a card carrying credit and one pairing membership days with a bond.

About Jagex prepaid game cards

Jagex is the British studio behind RuneScape, a long running online role playing game funded by membership rather than a one off purchase. A prepaid game card is the alternative to paying by card or subscription: you buy the code, activate it against your account and the membership time is applied.

The cards suit players who would rather not tie a payment method to their account, players topping up a family member's membership, and anyone wanting a fixed block of game time instead of a recurring plan. Durations run from a couple of weeks up to twelve months, alongside a credit card option, and they sit with other prepaid codes and vouchers for games and services.

Membership time from a card is added to the account it is activated on, so the recipient needs a RuneScape account before the code is used.

How to redeem a Jagex prepaid game card

Activation happens through the RuneScape site rather than inside the game client.

Create a RuneScape account first if the recipient does not already have one.
Go to runescape.com/store_locator.
Choose the option to activate a card.
Sign in to the RuneScape account you want the time or credit applied to.
Enter the PIN from the card exactly as supplied.
Confirm, then start playing with the membership applied.

Regions and where the cards work

Jagex cards are listed as global or as European editions. A global card is not tied to a particular country's store and can be activated on a RuneScape account wherever the player is. A European card is intended for accounts billed in Europe and should be bought for the region the player uses.

If you are buying for someone else, match the card to the region their account is set up in, since membership is applied against that account rather than to a device or a copy of the game.

Regions currently listed for Jagex: Global, Europe. Use the region filter beside the results to see the cards for one country.
