Can I redeem a Microsoft code on an account from another country?

Usually not. Region specific codes only work on a Microsoft account registered in the matching country, while codes marked Global are not limited in this way.

How do I receive the code?

The code is delivered to your order once payment completes, ready to enter in the Xbox app.

Is there any leftover balance after redeeming?

No. These are subscription codes rather than wallet credit, so the full duration is added to the account and nothing remains to spend.

Do I need a payment card to use a trial code?

The trial redemption instructions state that no credit card is required. Trial codes are intended for accounts that have not used Game Pass before.

Can I stack a code on an existing membership?

Standard duration codes generally add time to an eligible Microsoft account. Trial codes are limited to new accounts, so read the listing wording before buying.

About Microsoft Xbox Game Pass for PC codes

Microsoft is the company behind Windows and Xbox, and Xbox Game Pass for PC is its subscription for playing a rotating catalogue of games on Windows 10 and Windows 11. A code covers the membership itself rather than store credit, so it cannot be spent on individual purchases.

The codes suit PC players who want to try a large library without buying titles one by one, and anyone extending an existing membership. They sit alongside other prepaid and gift cards and software licences for PC users, with durations described from short trials to a full year.

Trial codes are intended for accounts that have not held Game Pass before, so check the listing wording if you already have a membership.

How to redeem a Microsoft Xbox Game Pass for PC code

Redemption happens in the Xbox app on Windows, signed in with the Microsoft account that should receive the membership. Some codes ask you to install the Xbox Beta App first, and it will help with any Windows update that is needed.

Open the Xbox app on your Windows PC, installing or updating it if prompted.
Sign in with your Microsoft account, or sign up if you do not have one.
Use the same Microsoft account you already use for Windows Store games.
Open the profile button in the top right, or go to My games and then Find games in the Store.
Select the option to redeem a code.
Enter your 25 character code in the xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx format and confirm.
Wait for the membership to appear on the account, then start installing games.

Regions and which code to choose

Microsoft codes are tied to the region of the Microsoft account that redeems them, so a code for one country will usually be rejected by an account registered in another. Check the country set on the account before choosing, and pick the code that matches it.

Codes marked Global are not restricted to a single country and can be redeemed worldwide. If you are buying for someone else, ask which country their Microsoft account uses.

Regions currently listed for Microsoft: Europe, United States, Global, India, AR/CL/CO/MX, HK/MO/TW, Hong Kong, United Kingdom. Use the region filter beside the results to see the cards for one country.
