How to redeem a Rakuten kobo gift card

There are two ways to use the code: apply it while paying for a book, or add it to the account first so the credit is waiting.

1. Apply the gift card number to the Add gift card field during checkout.
2. Let any remaining balance be added to your account as store credit for your next purchase.
3. Alternatively, go to kobo.com.
4. Sign in to your Kobo account.
5. Go to kobo.com/egiftcards.
6. Click Redeem Kobo Card and enter the code.

Regions and which card to choose

Rakuten kobo gift cards are issued in a currency and tied to the matching country store, so a card bought for one country is meant for an account shopping in that country. Choose the version that matches where the reader's Kobo account is set up and the currency they are billed in.

Cards marked Global are the exception and are not limited to a single national store. When in doubt, match the card to the country the recipient reads and buys in rather than the country you are ordering from.
