Can I use a country specific code on an account in another country?

No. A code listed for a single country is intended for an account registered in that country. Choose a Global subscription if the account country is different or unknown.

Do I need an existing Crunchyroll account?

You can redeem on an existing account or create a free account first. The Premium period is applied to whichever account redeems the code.

How do I get the code?

The code is delivered to your order once payment completes, and you then redeem it on your Crunchyroll account.

What happens if I already have Premium?

Behaviour depends on how your current membership is billed, so check your account's membership settings before redeeming a further code.

What is the difference between Fan and Mega Fan?

Both are Premium tiers. Mega Fan is the higher tier and includes more than the standard Fan membership, so pick the tier named in the subscription you want.

Crunchyroll subscription codes

Crunchyroll subscription codes unlock Premium access to the anime streaming service, covering the Fan and Mega Fan tiers. Once the code is applied to an account, the Premium period runs on that account.

Durations range from a single month to a full year, so a code can suit a short run through a season or a longer stretch of viewing.

About Crunchyroll Premium

Crunchyroll is an anime streaming service with a library of simulcast series, long running shows and films. Premium membership removes adverts and opens up the wider catalogue, with the Mega Fan tier sitting above the standard Fan tier. A subscription code is spent on Premium membership itself rather than on individual titles.

This suits anime viewers who prefer to pay for a fixed block of Premium time instead of keeping a card on file, and it works as a gift for someone already watching on a free account. Listed durations run from one month up to twelve months across the Fan and Mega Fan tiers, and Crunchyroll sits alongside other prepaid and gift card brands.

How to redeem a Crunchyroll code

The steps are short, and the help centre has a full walkthrough with screenshots if you would rather follow along with pictures.

Sign in to your Crunchyroll account, or create one if you do not have an account yet.
Open the redemption page for gift codes on your account.
Enter the code exactly as it is supplied.
Confirm the redemption and check that Premium is active on the account.
Start watching on the same account on the web, console or mobile.

Regions and account matching

Some Crunchyroll subscriptions are listed as Global and can be redeemed on an account wherever Crunchyroll operates. Others are tied to a single country, such as the United Kingdom or France, and should be redeemed on an account registered in that country.

Check which country the account belongs to before choosing, since a country specific code may not apply to an account set up elsewhere. The anime catalogue itself also varies by territory because of licensing.
