About Maximum Entertainment
Maximum Entertainment is a Swedish publisher that brings games from smaller teams to PC and console players. Its list ranges from atmospheric horror and story-led adventures to shooters and simulation, which is why the titles here sit across the indie, adventure, action, puzzle, casual and simulation genres.
The studios behind these releases include Blue Manchu, whose Wild Bastards mixes turn-based tactics with first-person gunfights, Polychroma Games with the narrative adventure Until Then, Pulsatrix Studios with the survival horror Fobia: St. Dinfna Hotel, and Dovetail Games, known for Train Sim World. Meangrip Studios and Dee Dee Creations also feature, alongside releases spanning 2017 to 2025.
Games in the catalogue
Horror and mystery are well represented by Bye Sweet Carole, In Nightmare and Fobia: St. Dinfna Hotel, while Until Then offers a slower, story-driven experience. On the action side there is Wild Bastards, Dead Alliance: Multiplayer Edition, Troll and I and the kingdom-building Overthrown, with Squirrel with a Gun, Leo and Mia: Animal Rescue and Loading Human: Chapter 1 adding lighter and more experimental picks. Many of these sit comfortably alongside other indie titles and adventure games.
Most titles are Steam keys for PC. Wild Bastards is also covered for Xbox Series X|S, Fobia: St. Dinfna Hotel for Xbox One, and Leo and Mia: Animal Rescue for PlayStation 5. Train Sim World is represented by route add-ons, including Northern Trans-Pennine: Manchester to Leeds and Long Island Rail Road: New York to Hicksville, which require the matching base simulator.
How buying works
Each game activates on the platform its listing names: Steam titles are redeemed in the Steam client, while console releases are added through the Xbox or PlayStation store. If you have not redeemed a code before, the guide on activating a Steam key walks through the steps.
Bye Sweet Carole, Squirrel with a Gun and In Nightmare also come as game accounts, which arrive with the game already on it, so you sign in rather than redeem anything. Games are sold per region, and a key has to match the region of the account it is being activated on, so check region locking before buying.
Common questions
- Which platform do these games activate on?
- Each listing states its platform. Most Maximum Entertainment titles here activate on Steam for PC, while some are for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5.
- Will a key work in another country?
- Only if the region of the key matches the region of the account redeeming it. A key intended for one region may be rejected on an account registered elsewhere.
- What is the difference between a key and an account?
- A key is a code you redeem on your own account to add the game to your library. An account comes with the game already on it, so you sign in with the details provided instead of redeeming a code.
- Do Train Sim World route add-ons need the base game?
- Yes. Route add-ons such as Northern Trans-Pennine and Long Island Rail Road are expansions and require the matching Train Sim World base game on the same account.
- When do I receive my key or account details?
- The key or account details are delivered to your order once payment completes.
